A scrapyard has caught fire and residents nearby have been advised to keep their windows and doors shut.
Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters tackled a fire at a scrapyard on Thames Road in Silvertown, reported London Fire Brigade (LFB) at 1.07am today (August 30).
Around 40 tonnes of scrap metal was alight and LFB said its crews were likely to remain at the scene for much of the night.
The fire produced large amounts of smoke and LFB's control officers received 28 calls about it.

There have been no reports of injuries at this time after the brigade was called at 22.59pm yesterday (August 29).
The fire is being treated as accidental, LFB said.
Crews from Plaistow, East Ham, Poplar, Millwall and surrounding fire stations attended.
A 32 metre turntable ladder was used to help tackle the flames and a drone was also used to provide LFB a better aerial view.
