It’s impossible not to be charmed by this heartwarming two-hander.

For Love N Stuff, currently running at Theatre Royal Stratford East, is far more than the sum of its parts, with the actors playing a staggering 20 characters between them.

The comedy tells the story of instantly lovable couple Bindi (Rina Fatania) and Mansoor (Nicholas Khan) who have been happily married for 33 years - so when Mansoor suddenly decides to leave England and return home to India, Bindi isn’t willing to let him go without a fight.

Friends and neighbours head to Heathrow in a last-ditch attempt to change his mind in what results in a laugh out loud yet surprisingly touching tale.

The variety of characters – everything from a Scottish policewoman-cum-stripper to a badman teenager and a gay Tajikistani athlete – really enables the dynamic duo to show off their versatility.

Fatania in particular brought verve and humour to each and every part, with sassy loudmouth Janice just one of the many highlights.

The tight script means that the role call doesn’t interrupt from the central plot and I couldn’t help but root for the couple throughout.

Love N Stuff runs until June 25. Tickets cost from £10. Visit stratfordeast.com to book.
