London Youngbloods Cubs were crowned champions of Basketball England’s 3x3 FIBA Endorsed event at Manchester’s Belle Vue venue, held to help raise the profile of female basketball in the country.

Cubs started their campaign in a determined way, playing against Brighton Cougars, Bucks Elite, Suffolk Sharks, Tees Valley, Synergy and beating all the teams that stepped on the court with them.

Youngbloods battled their way to the semi-finals where they played against Derby Trailblazers and shooting guard Ines Goryanova remained relentless from outside of the key, as Tinu Fakunle, Fatmata Janneh and Leia Edwards dominated the inside.

In the final, Youngbloods came up against Synergy again and, despite their opponents getting off to a strong start, they came up trumps to bag themselves the silverware.
