Youngbloods under-16 girls ran out 76-37 winners at London Thunder at the weekend.

Leia Edwards scored nine of her 21 points in the first quarter in a strong start and newcomer Blance Toualeu converted rebounds into points to help build a 23-9 lead.

Tinu Fakunle dominated the second quarter, as 12-year-old Edwards continued to shine, and Ines Gorynova did a good job at point guard.

Youngbloods led 58-24 after the third quarter and kept standards high to finish convincing winners as coach Caroline Charles said: “I was pleased to see the ladies moving the ball around well. The girls train very hard and it’s good for them to see the rewards.”

The under-14 girls won 55-41 at Haringey Angels, while the under-19 boys beat Ldonon United 90-35.

The under-14 Conference League boys beat Islington Panthers Yellow 74-15 to make it three wins in three this season.

After falling behind early on, a 6-0 run was led by A Wilkinson, who scored four of his eight points, before A Row-Fuller and N Hanson took charge.

M Rubio sank a three-point shot as Youngbloods ended the first quarter 29-6 ahead.

And the rest of the match followed a similar pattern, with points coming from B Ojomu and N Nwanja, who finished with 17 points, 18 rebouds and five assists.

T Gregg-Sharpe showed his leadership ability as J Tan finished with 10 points.

The Premier Division squad saw off Brentwood Fire by an emphatic 117-39 margin.

Ben Reid-Akinmoladun and Elisee Guese led the way as the Lions built a 23-8 advantage.

And Jayden Baldie (18 points) and Noah Myers (10) shone in the second quarter as the gap grew to 61-13.

Adrian Bernardo (13), Tami Alegbe (nine), Cameraon Pereira-Lindley (eight) and Alex Lartey impressed in the third quarter.

And the century came up in the final session as Kyle Espiritu (11) and Ethan Taasin (eight) got in on the act and debutant Tim Murphy-Rose claimed his first three points for the club.
