A round-up of the latest matches involving Wapping hockey teams

Wapping Hockey men’s first team made it three wins on the spin with a 4-0 victory over Blueharts at Lee Valley on Saturday.

Adam Fallis chalked up his third goal in as many games to put them in front and they doubled their lead in the 15th minute when Ollie Davies deflected home from close range.

Grant Aidoo-Nash slid home Ollie Bull’s pin-point reverse stick cross to secure a third for Wapping, before rounding out the scoring with his second of the match.

Meanwhile, Lucy Todd’s double helped the woemn’s first team to a 2-1 win over Cambridge City.

They broke the deadlock as Lotta Paulus delivered a ball into the D, which Todd picked up in front of the keeper and casually slipped the ball on the reverse into the goal.

Then from a short corner, Kate O’Sullivan slipped the ball for the deflection, which was followed through by Todd and went into the back of the net.

Cambridge did pull one back, but Wapping were able to remain in control and see the game out to record an important victory.

For the men’s second team, James Fanger and Max Duerkop netted in a 2-1 win over Bourne Deeping.

Ross Townsley and James Wheaton helped the thirds to a 2-0 victory against Felixstowe.

Jon Broomfield netted the only goal of the game as the fourths saw off Witham 1-0.

There was a 5-2 loss for the fifths to Colchester, but the sixths drew 2-2 with Southend after Tom Finill and Chris Young netted.

Wapping women’s second team were edged 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller against East London despite Jess Sturgeon, Siobhan Stewart and Lou Song getting on the scoresheet.

Charlotte Holt and Sandy Akinbolu netted in a thirds’ 2-0 victory over Maldon.

Nina Belk and Louise Murphy helped the fourths to a 2-2 draw with Upminster.

The fifths lost 2-0 to East London, but Bee Hughes scored four goals in a 6-2 sixth team win over Upminster. Marieke van Kleef also netted a brace.

Wapping sevenths lost 1-0 to Basildon, but the eighths picked up a 2-2 draw with Chelmsford as Faye Zeller and Samantha Dale were on target.

The men’s firsts are next in action at St Albans, while the owmen’s firsts visit Norwich Dragons.
