St Bonaventure’s year 10 handball team bagged the top prize at the borough’s Handball Cup competition.

The Boleyn Road School remain undefeated against the likes of Kingsford, Little Ilford, Cumberland and Langdon Academy after beating them to seal the gold medal last week.

The team also included current national champions Ethan Tassin, Tami Alegbe and Noah Myers from the school’s year nine squad.

The boys will now represent Newham as they play for a place in the London Youth Games finals at the Copper Box Arena in March 2019.

The most valuable player for the St Bons team on the day was named as goalkeeper Nathiel Achea, however captain Marc Mendoza also got a special mention for turning in some excellent performances and scoring some wonder goals during the tournament.

PE teacher Mr Firth was proud of his squad.
