Stars from darts and boxing pick up fishing rods for charity

The second Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) Invitational Fishing Contest is taking place at Brookmans Park’s Shepherds Way Lake, in Hertfordshire on Friday, September 12.

The day will see some of the biggest names in sport compete for the much-coveted trophy. Participants will include Phil Taylor, Barry Hearn, Steve Davis, Adrian Lewis, Stephen Bunting and over 20 other stars from the world of Darts and Boxing.

The day is in support of the Haven House Children’s Hospice, Woodford Green, Essex and this year, for the first time, they will be opening their doors to the public for them to come and watch their heroes try to land the heaviest catch of the day and win the much coveted PDC Fishing Championship.

Proceedings will begin with contestants having to throw darts to win their lake positions and then spend the day trying to outperform their fellow competitors. The nature of sports people being highly competitive will promote much rivalry and a serious amount of banter will pass across the picturesque lake setting.

Sky Sports will be covering the day’s activities and a master of ceremonies will keep the public informed, and for those that enjoy a flutter, an on-site bookmaker will be offering all the latest odds.

Food and drinks will be available throughout the day and the layout of the lake being intimate allows for the public to get up close to their favourite Sport Stars and to enjoy the contest.

The day is sure to be great fun and will attract much attention. The audience size will be limited, but if you’re quick you can get tickets for £6.00 from the event promoter’s website jbdsportsagents.co.uk.
