Tyra-Nicole Whyte of the Tessa Sanderson Tennis Academy fought her way to make it to the finals of the “Club Tour” Green Mini-Tennis leaderboard.

Organised by the Middlesex County Tennis Association, Whyte held her last match of the season at the Riverside Health & Racquets Club Northwood.

She lost the first set 4-3 to Nikka Zarah of Middlesex but won the second 4-2.

In the third and decisive set she was trailing 9-4 in the tie-break but Whyte gallantly fought back to win the set and match 14-12, which meant she finished fifth overall with a total point tally of 480 ensuring her place in the finals.

Middlesex County Tennis Association will host the Finals Day where the top eight boys and girls from Green leaderboard will play in the finals on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the Lensbury Club in Teddington.

Tessa Sanderson Tennis Academy and Richard Krajicek Foundation offers free tennis coaching to talented youngsters at West Ham Park and Newham College of Further Education, East Ham.
