O’s boss secures signing of French forward
Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade has revealed his pleasure at securing the signing of French attacker Yohann Lasimant on a one-year contract subject to international clearance.
The 23-year-old, who has played for Rennes and won under-19/under-20 caps with France, recently impressed Slade while on trial and scored twice in the recent 7-0 win at Chelmsford City.
Lasimant followed up interest from Peterborough United and played in their 1-0 win against QPR on Saturday.
But he has decided to sign for the O’s, much to their manager’s delight.
Slade said: “Yohann impressed us on trial and, although he had other options on the table, he enjoyed his time here and we’re pleased to have him sign.
“There’s still a bit of work to be done with him, but he’s got good pedigree and has shown good potential, plus he’s capable of playing in a couple of positions as he can play wide or off the striker.”
Meanwhile, O’s midfielder Anthony Griffith has returned to former outfit Port Vale on a permanent basis following a successful loan period last season.
