West Ham boxers scored an impressive six hit on their own club show at East Ham WMC on Friday.

Heading the Hammers success story was new boy Bailey Gibson’s impressive debut victory over Berry Boys rival Leonard Neale.

Gibson displayed some classy combination punches to take the verdict and was named the best boxer of the night, receiving the award from West Ham and England soccer legend Alvin Martin.

Another bright Hammers prospect Vinnie Driscoll was in winning form against Muhammad Ali (ELBA) who he halted in the second round.

And Shaun Galbraith landed the effective punches to subdue Finchley rival Tyson Drohan to clinch the judges decision.

Max Durning travelled from Cambridge hoping to stop the home run of victories, but failed to overcome Hammer Reece Collins who punched out a points victory.

Patrick O’Driscoll’s clash with Centurions rival Barry Nolan produced some keenly-fought exchanges as the Hammer took the points verdict and Max Endean also turned on some sharp-hitting attacks in the second round for a stoppage win over Westree’s Jack Walker.

Also showing good form in skills contests were West Ham duo Cherise Barone and Iram Ahmed.

Clashes between Newham and Repton youngsters provided highlights of the NE London Junior Championships at Chingford, including a meeting of National champions.

Rival 2014 schools winners Henry Turner (Repton) and Newham’s Alfie Mehegan supplied the high standard encounter before Turner took the points verdict.

The tables were turned in another local meeting as Ishmael Islam provided an outstanding display to win his contest with Repton’s Gary Haffenden.

West Ham’s Tony O’Driscoll proved too good for Repton’s Jake Henty to join the parade of champions.

The North East winners will now be looking for London title success at the Harold Hill Community Centre, Gooshays Drive on Sunday (4pm).

*Newham’s Khalid Ali was in winning form on the Dagenham show at the Prince Regent Hotel in Chigwell, scoring a good points win over the home club’s Henry Attridge.

But there was tough luck for West Ham’s multi-titled Viddal Riley when a viral infection forced him to withdraw from the National Youth finals in Durham.

Title favourite Riley, 17, moved through the quarter-finals in the 8lkg section with a good win over Asa Tolan-Powell (Smallholdings).

But the infection prevented the European silver medallist from contesting his semi-final bout with Kettering’s William McCann.

*Newham’s Peacock gym became the hottest training spot in town this week, with a string of big name fighters going through their final workouts before Frank Warren’s 02 promotion on Saturday.

WBO International heavyweight champion Christian Hammer was preparing for his showdown duel with home hope Tyson Fury in the 12-round top liner when the European heavyweight title is also on the line.

And WBA Interim world middleweight champion Dmitry Chudinov and challenger Chris Eubank Jnr were also at the gym, performing media work-outs before their title duel.

Other star names booked for the bill and training at the Canning Town venue were British and Commonwealth super-featherweight champion Liam Walsh, WBO European super-middleweight champion Frank Buglioni and WBO European welterweight title challenger Bradley Skeete.

The most familiar face in the parade of top talent was English welterweight champion Ahmet Patterson who regularly trains there under the eye of Peacock boss Martin Bowers.

Patterson defends the title and unbeaten record against Sunderland’s Glenn Foot, with both fighters having chalked up 14 straight victories.

Former Repton amateur Buglioni will be cheered on by his enthusiastic following when he defends his belt against Ivan Jukic.

Walsh risks his titles against Joe Murray while Skeete challenges Anzor Gamgbeli for a vacant crown.

Lewis Pettitt’s WBA International super-bantamweight title defence, undefeated Manchester light-heavyweight Dempsey Fury and the pro debut of Boy Jones Jr are also featured.
