St Bonaventure's year seven basketball team triumphed in the Jr. NBA England League


Year seven team take Jr. NBA England championships by storm

St Bonaventure’s year seven basketball team were crowned Jr. NBA England League champions after defeat Harris Academy 35-10 in the final of the competition.

The two teams had progressed from their respective leagues, with St Bonaventure’s winning the co-ed division and Harris Academy winning the girls-only title, to set up a clash for the overall championship.

Watched by WNBA legend Allison Feaster, who also gave the finalists a masterclass before, watched on from the sidelines as St Bonaventure’s raced to a comfortable success.

Nikodem Dziubaltowski, Demi Dada, Samzel Quaye, Ronin Botor, Jahni Weddeburn, Sujan Surendran, Gabriel Omoregie, Marc Mendoza and Alfie Grech played the team to glory, coached by PE teachers Paolo Ancora and Mr Onereti.

“The team really deserved the win based on all their hard work over the past seven months, especially their commitment coming in early in the mornings,” said Ancora.

“The year seven team are currently still unbeaten in all competitions, amassing an impressive 34 wins with no losses since September. To say I am proud is an understatement.”
