New football team shares spoils with rivals

Tunmarsh School’s Pupil Referral Unit saw their new year nine football team battle to a 4-4 draw with Oasis Academy Silvertown recently.

Oasis raced into a 2-0 lead, but Tunmarsh drew level with two fantastic goals from Omaro Bahaja and Joss Pierre put them 3-2 up with a superb individual goal.

The lead was shortlived as Oasis squared matters once again, but Malachi Belafonte put Tunmarsh 4-3 up, only for their rivals to hit back and ensure honours finished even.

“Tunmarsh PRU have established a school football team in an attempt to give their students the opportunity to display the talents they possess, and without a shadow of doubt there was plenty of talent on show,” said Terry Bobie Agyekum.

“Congratulations to CJ, Jack Summers, Shahir Imam, Elliot Graham, Babatunde Owede, Malachi, Lamar Lawrence, Joss Pierre, Malachi Belafonte, Arilan Hysaj and Louis Blackman for representing their school.”
