St Helen’s were crowned tennis champions as they won the latest Langdon Academy Sport Partnership Event.

The event attracted mixed teams containing year three and year four students from all across the borough of Newham.

St Helen’s came through Group Two undefeated, seeing off the challenge of second-placed Nelson 3-2 and St Winifrede’s 4-0.

In Group One, it was St Edward’s who emerged unbeaten with Thomas Arnold close behind in second as the two side qualified for the semi-finals alongside the top two from Group Two.

In the first semi-final, Nelson inflicted defeat on St Edward’s as they won 3-1 while St Helen’s saw off Thomas Arnold 4-0.

The third-place play-off saw Thomas Arnold gain revenge against St Edward’s with a 3-1 to secure the bronze medals.

In the final it was another win for St Helen’s who went through the entire competition unbeaten as they won 4-0 against Nelson.
