Table tennis squads play entertaining friendly

Canning Town’s Rokeby School saw their newly formed table tennis squad host Langdon in their first-ever friendly match recently.

And eight of the Rokeby boys ended the match with a positive win ratio to the delight of coach Ash Willetts, who said: “I was surprised by the standard of the players from Langdon, it gave the Rokeby boys a real challenge.

“A special mention goes to Kevin Paez who really raised his game on the day and beat players of a much higher standard, making him the home team’s player of the day.”

Erik Michailov, Hamza Sheikey and Hamza Mohamed, the three boys selected to represent Newham in the London Youth Games at Redbridge this weekend, remained unbeaten throughout the match.
