Aldersbrook School were triumphant at a handball event held by the Langdon Academy as part of their Sport Partnership.

The competition was held for pupils in years one and two with teams also coming from St Joachim’s, St Edward’s, Thomas Arnold and St Antony’s.

In the group stage Aldersbrook topped the standings, losing only once to St Edward’s and drawing with St Antony’s as they won their other six fixtures.

St Edward’s success over Aldersbrook helped them finish second with St Joachim’s and Thomas Arnold also qualifying for the semi-finals.

Aldersbrook progressed to the final as they beat Thomas Arnold 5-1 while St Joachim’s exacted revenge on St Edward’s having lost to them earlier in the tournament by winning 3-2.

In the final Aldersbrook showed they merited their finish at the top of the group standings as they lifted the trophy with a 5-2 win over St Joachim’s.
