The first team beat a young and skilful Chelmsford seconds 3-0 in East League Division One South, with goals from Ailish Hendry, Renske Pesch and Emily Menzies.

Perdita Blinkhorn produced some fine saves on her way to the player of the match award, with a trip to Canterbury up next this weekend.

The seconds visited Shefford & Sandy in Division Two South West and took the lead from their first short corner of the match as Mara Waters fired home.

Nicky Sevel tapped in a second from Lucy Bohoslawec’s cross, before Waters struck twice more to complete her hat-trick, firing home on the reverse and then tapping in from close range.

The third string travelled to Colchester seconds and netted four times in each half for an emphatic 8-0 victory, while the fourths earned local bragging rights against Wapping thirds thanks to a 3-1 win.

And the fifths maintained their hold on top spot as Katie Wardle shone in midfield to take player of the match honours from a 5-1 triumph against Brentwood seconds, as the sixth team hit Havering thirds 8-0 at Mile End.

And the seventh team were too strong for Brentwood fourths, claiming a comfortable 5-0 victory in Essex.
