NASSA 117 Lrytas Academy 35 Newham All Star Sports Academy (NASSA) under-13s boys proved to be far too good for Lrytas Academy, racking up well over 100 points to secure a convincing victory.

The NASSA boys started well as they raced to at 39-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and continued to dominate in the second period as they extended their advantage to show the way by 59 points at the end of the second.

The dominance continued with strong drives to the basket while remaining solid in defence to secure a convincing 82 point victory.

Pioneers South 29

NASSA under-14 boys outpaced London Greenhouse Pioneers South from the tip-off and had the game in the bag by the end of the second period.

During the second half the NASSA team concentrated on refining their game, demonstrating effective defensive skills and by the end of the fourth had secured an easy victory.

Norfolk Iceni 52

NASSA under-14 girls were never headed in their entertaining game against Norfolk Iceni after they quickly opened the scoring and then kept up the pressure to edge out their opponents.

NASSA made good use of all areas of the court and coupled with sound shooting and a strong defence continued to keep their tenacious opponents at bay.

Norfolk continued to cause problems, but despite scoring several baskets were unable to keep up with the NASSA pace and ultimately succumbed to a narrow defeat.

Solent Kestrels 22

A three-pointer from Ben Maraham opened the scoring and set the tone for NASSA under-16s high-scoring demolition of Solent Kestrels.

NASSA made good use of every opportunity to drive hard to the basket and the points kept coming with Jonathan James notching up 20 points for his team, his tally followed closely by Calvin Kintu with 16.

Good defence from the team and excellent rebound skills of the Newham boys helped NASSA to snuff out Solent’s rare chances and run out convincing winners.

Meanwhile in Division Two of the National league, NASSA’s men’s team edged out Paws Capitals by 68-67 and in Division Four, NASSA men beat Southend 102-96.
