London Tang Soo Do Karate club had plenty to celebrate at the National Tang Soo Do Karate Championships after returning from Warwickshire with 70 trophies.

All competitors at the even took part in three categories: weapons, hyungs (patterned form) and fighting.

With members from Upton Park and Canning Town, the London group took home a mass of trophies, including 40 for first place finishes.

The group also took home black belt team hyungs trophy, while London recording a one-two finish in the overall squad standings.

“All of the students worked hard in preparation for this competition, training four to five times per week,” said master Rommel Bernarte.

“Their commitment and dedication has been rewarded with all of the accolades received and are fully deserved. I am very proud of all them.

“We now go on to the European Championships held in the Netherlands in October this year.”
