Fight for Peace ABC, from North Woolwich, had their first win of the new season on Saturday, with a convincing points win for Muhammed Mahmood at Rayleigh.

The 20-year-old from East Ham, boxing after a two-year break from the sport, impressed as he scored a unanimous points decision over Tony Wagstaff of Rayleigh.

A sharp jab and impressive combinations forced Wagstaff to take a standing count in the last round to compete Mahmood’s good performance.

It was a welcome return to the win column for the club after Ryan Walker’s close points defeat the previous weekend against Alan Smith of Dagenham.
