Forest Gate kickboxer in action on MMA show in Sussex

Mantis Kickboxing of Forest Gate returned from a mixed martial arts show at Brighton’s Grand Hotel with mixed results.

Alex Lupascu, the current IKF Southern Area Light Heavweight champion, was in action against Adrian Skalik from the London South Gym.

In a tight and exciting affair, Lupascu was able to come through and win the bout on the points.

Lupascu’s clubmate Ylber Pjetri was also in action on the coast as he took on Sama South East’s Tommy King.

The two fighters were evenly matches throughout the contest which was reflected in the final result of a draw.

Sadly there were points defeats for the other two Mantis stars that featured on the card, with Bilal Anwar and debutant John Anastasiei both suffering disappointment.

Following the completion of the show, Mantis Head coach Joseph Wharwoodsaid: “In the end, we were happy with the results and it’s a learning curve for all of these lad.”
