Former GB youth international latest to join Copper Box club
Allie Fullah is coming home after joining London Lions for the upcoming British Basketball League (BBL) season.
The former Great Britain under-20 international has spent the last few years playing abroad, in both the USA and France, but returns to the capital, having grown up in Hackney.
Fullah still lives in the borough and is looking forward to playing in front of a true home crowd for the first time in his career.
“I am so excited,” said Fullah. “I can’t wait for the season to start, I want to start gelling with all my teammates.
“I want to do big things in London, I want to look in the stands and see all people I know, I’m excited”.
Fullah’s new coach Nigel Lloyd is eqaully as pleased to have secured the signing of the centre for the forthcoming campaign.
“We are happy to acquire another stunning British prospect in Allie, it’s important English players see a career path through British Basketball and the BBL,” said Lloyd.
“I have known Allie a long time and he is a serious competitor, he brings a never say die attitude to us and I know he will be happy about playing at home.”
Several more signings are expected to join Fullah at Lions before the new term kicks off, and fans will have their first chance to see the new look team in action the UMass Minutemen this Saturday, which starts at 6pm.
