Easter holiday treat for local youngsters

The London Lions are offering more free coaching for local youngsters during the school Easter holidays in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Last summer, the programme was proudly supported by the Legacy Development Corporation and over 250 children took part with Lions certified coaches and players running the sessions.

London Lions star Laurent Irish said: “It has been a pleasure to coach these youngsters, their enthusiasm is infectious and makes you realise the beauty of our sport.

“I’m really looking forward to coaching. I hope more young people will be able to join us for the sessions at the Copper Box on Tuesdays too.”

The outdoor sessions takes place on Tuesday, April 5 at Carpenters Cage, Warton Road, opposite Azura Court in Stratford, E15 2JS.

The first session is for under-14 boys from 12.30-1.30pm, with over-14 boys from 1.30-2.30pm and mixed age girls from 2.30-3.30pm.

There is no need to book and youngsters interested in taking part are urged to just show up, ready to play, with warm clothes and a water bottle.
