Leyton Orient manager Kenny Jackett is still looking to bring a few more new faces in before the transfer window slams shut.

The O’s were due to travel away to Dulwich Hamlet last night (Tuesday) before then hosting League One side Gillingham at the Breyer Group Stadium on Saturday as the final pre-season preparations take place.

Jackett has brought in the likes of Darren Pratley, Paul Smyth, Aaron Drinan, Harry Smith, Omar Beckles, Connor Wood and Tom James but expects maybe another addition or two yet.

“We do think there will be some movement, not extensive, but some movement. Perhaps our front line as we’ve got a couple out and it showed,” the boss admitted.

“Maybe one or two in as we move towards the end of August. There is plenty of time for that, but obviously it has to be the right players, and players that can complement or are better than what we already have.”

The former Wolves boss believes he now knows what his squad is capable of and is hoping they can get everyone fit in time for the season opener away to Salford City on Saturday, August 7.

“We’re pretty clear now in terms of what people can do. Omar Beckles is coming back which is another experienced player coming into the side," he said.

“Adam Thompson is that much closer to recovering, Harry Smith as well, so we’ve got some good players to come back.”

The boss has also been extremely pleased with what he has seen from the youngsters in and around the first-team squad at Leyton Orient during the pre-season fixtures.

“It’s been good to have a look at some of the young players as a new manager and give them opportunities," he added.

“It’s good for me and it’s good for them. We now go into the final two weeks and I’m looking for my senior players to come back.

“They will thicken us as we work towards Gillingham on Saturday then finally going up to Salford.”
