Leyton Orient assistant head coach Danny Senda says the team must continue to focus on themselves after picking up back-to-back victories in League Two.

The O’s will now make the long trip away to face league leaders Carlisle United on Saturday after wins over both Southend United and Salford City at home in the past week.

They know it will be another tough test, as is every game in the division as they’ve found out so far this campaign.

Senda said: “It’s going to be a long journey. We’re going to go up there positive. I keep saying it, this league has got such a balance to it. Teams at the bottom end of the division can cause you as many problems as the teams at the top end.

“We fully expect Carlisle to be a good match for us, they’re a good team, but it’s about us and I'll keep saying it.

“If we get what we need to do right, everyone does their jobs right, then we are a match for any team in this division.”

Many games are now being postponed due to Covid-19 precautions which is putting a lot of doubt in people’s minds about whether the season will finish when it was expected to. But Senda knows they must continue as they have done all season.

“We felt the effects earlier on in the season. I think we were one of the first teams to really feel the effects. Obviously Covid went through the squad and now we’ve lost our manager.

“Every team in the division is having to find a way to adapt to the current circumstances that we live in, but I think the teams that will go on and be successful are the teams that are able to adapt quickly, and able to not be flustered by the circumstances.

“It’s something that we earmarked at the beginning of the season, the manager spoke about it, and said these things will come up and it’s how we approach them and handle them.

“At the whole football club, top to bottom, we are managing the situation as best as we can.”

Head coach Ross Embleton is expected to be back on the touchline for the trip to Brunton Park and they’ll be hoping to start January transfer window activity this week as well.
