East London men’s sixth team moved to the top of the Division Seven South East table after a 15-0 romp against Saffron Walden.

Jamie Rosser converted from a short corner to open the floodgates, while Jack Thompson and Calvin Tang both claimed their first goals for the team, and quickly added seconds.

Hiren Amin and James Lennard helped themselves to four goals apiece, with David O’Reilly and Samuel Willis also on target in the rout.

George Cooper produced several mazy runs to pick up a string of assists as East London took their tally for the season to 69 goals in eight matches.

The seconds drew 1-1 with West Herts thirds, while the eighths were held by Romford seconds, as Dominic Scott netted and the fourths went down 4-1 to Witham seconds.

The women’s thirds were 3-0 winners at Havering seconds in the Essex League.

Stacey West opened the scoring with a well-struck shot, then doubled her side’s lead before the break.

Catherine Weber completed the tally after the restart.

The fourths were edged out 3-2 by Brentwood seconds, falling behind to a penalty flick despite the efforts of keeper Charlotte Burge.

A fine solo effort from Camilla Marcus-Dew levelled things up, but East conceded again before half time.

Inspiring words from Carolyn Davies saw East made a bright start to the second half, with Marcus-Dew netting her second goal of the game to square matters.

But despite more fine saves from Burge, Brentwood took the points after scrambling a messy third goal.

There was better news for East London sevenths as they won 3-0 at frosty Chelmsford.

Jas Newey and Eimear Fitzsimons combined well, as player of the match Steph Poon, Laura Friend and Jen North also shone, and Debs White and Wendy Smith scored fine goals before Chloe Russell fired home the third.

The eighths took the lead against Crostyx fourths as Teri Evans pounced when Danae Lopez saw her shot stopped on the line.

Player of the match Sarah Burke fired home a second before the interval, as Katya Mironova, Pippa Jones and Zoe Hawthorne impressed.
