Poland international joined Hammers in summer from Swansea City
New West Ham United goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski was gutted his home debut for the east Londoners ended in a 2-1 defeat against Bournemouth in the Premier League.
The Poland international was one of a number of players to make his first appearance at the London Stadium in a Hammers shirt after joining in the summer from Swansea City.
The 33-year-old looked on course to enjoy a successful home debut when Marko Arnautovic netted from the spot in the first half.
However, goals after the interval from Callum Wilson and Steve Cook saw the Cherries come from behind to triumph.
It could have been worse for West Ham, but for a string of impressive saves from Fabianski.
And while the former Arsenal man was happy to make the stops, he admits he would rather have enjoyed a winning home debut.
“That’s a positive for me to take from this game, but it’s all about the team result and unfortunately we lost,” said Fabianski.
“It’s not good, but we just need to keep looking forward, keep working with this group of players because there were some big changes.
“It always takes time to gel and hopefully it will happen sooner rather than later. It wasn’t ideal to lose on my home debut.”
