West Ham have added an extra game to their pre-season fixtures with a clash against a German fifth division side.

After two games against Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen for this season’s Betway Cup, the Hammers have fitted in a game against Hamburg-based Altona 93 before they travel to Iceland to take on Manchester City.

The game takes place on Tuesday, August 1 at 5.30pm (BST) at the Adolf-Jäger-Kampfbahn stadium which has a capacity of 10,000.

In the past, West Ham have travelled as far afield as Australia and the United States for pre-season and it has been detrimental to their season, so this is a much more low-key build up.

The two games against Bremen are scheduled for July 28 and 29, while the Man City friendly is on Friday, August 4.

The Hammers are unable to play home friendlies this season because the London Stadium is being used for the World Athletics Championships in August.
