New Premier League campaign about to get underway

The 2016/17 Premier League season begins this weekend and our clubs face testing opening fixtures.

Tottenham, having qualified automatically for the Champions League last time around with their third-place finish, travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton on Saturday (3pm), while north London neighbours Arsenal welcome Liverpool to the Emirates on Sunday (4pm), having finished runners-up to champions Leicester in May.

Meanwhile, West Ham United – having finished seventh in their final season at Upton Park – make the short trip to west London to battle it out with Chelsea on Monday night (8pm), having already secured a place in the play-off round of the Europa League with victory on their London Stadium debut a week ago.

Archant reporters Ben Pearce, Ben Kosky and Dave Evans discuss the hopes of the three rival outfits in our first podcast of the campaign.
