Curwen were crowned champions at the Key Stage Two year five and six football tournament staged by Langdon Academy Sport Partnership.

The school breezed through their last 16 match, winning 1-0 against St Edward’s, before a 2-0 victory against Brampton in the quarter-finals.

They then met Avenue in the semi-finals, where they drew 0-0 and had to rely on penalties to help them progress into the final, where they met St Joachim’s.

Curwen drew 0-0 with St Joachim’s, but once again came up trumps in a penalty shoot-out to be crowned champions, while their opponents had to settle for silver.

While, Kaizen sealed the bronze medal by beating Avenue 1-0 in the third and fourth place match, after losing 2-0 to St Joachim’s in the semi-finals.

The event was one of a number of Langdon Academy Sport Partnership competitions held recently.
