Newham under-12s have been crowned Essex Cup champions with a 6-1 victory over Basildon in the final.
Having lost to Basildon in the league earlier in the season Newham went into the game as underdogs, but as they were at full strength on this occasion they felt confident of getting revenge.
Newham started the game brightly with some good work down the flanks from Mohammed Yahya Wahid and Tyrone Boza.
And whilst making one of his mazy runs Boza drew a foul from the Basildon defender which resulted in a free kick to Newham.
James Lynskey, who scored a hat trick of free kicks in the semi final of the Essex Cup, stepped up to deliver a ball in the centre of the goal which found the head of Amara Nallo to nod home.
Against the run of play Basildon equalised, as Newham attempted to play out from the back and the ball ended up with the Basildon striker who placed the ball into the bottom corner.

A few minutes later Newham were awarded a free kick which Amara took and lofted into the box, where James Lynskey managed to get the last touch to put Newham 3-1 up.
Amara was now full of confidence and then tried another long range shot, but this time there was no deflection and the ball flew into the top corner.
Basildon were trying to catch Newham on the break, but a solid defensive display kept them out.
Boza finally got his reward for all his hard work and finished from close range to put Newham 5-1 up as Kajus Petkus, Mohammed-Sahin Abasov and Billy Hannaford ten came on to give Newham an extra boost.
Petkus finished off the game with a low shot into the bottom corner to seal a superb 6-1 success.
