Orient Boss Slade has a warning for his players
Leyton Orient Manager Russell Slade has warned his side not to underestimate 21st placed Scunthorpe on Good Friday.
The O’s come into the fixture in great form, having won three of their last four games, but Slade believes Scunthorpe’s league position is false.
“I think Scunthorpe will be a really difficult game.
“Every report on them has been good and their position in the table is a false one in my opinion.
“They are a good footballing side, with some good players and they can score goals.”
Slade isn’t expecting an easy game from Brian Law’s side, and knows they’ll be desperate to beat his O’s team.
“Probably their problem, is that they concede too many goals from time to time,” added Slade.
“There are no easy games in this division.”
“Brian Laws is an experienced manager and he’ll be desperate to get those points necessary to get them out of trouble.
Scott Cuthbert has been ruled out for the rest of the season, but Slade is confident Elliot Omozusi can replace the central defender, like he did against Preston last week.
He added: “Elliot has been around the place for a while and for him to come in and do what he did for us last Saturday was excellent.
“Mathieu Baudry is getting slowly closer to fitness too, there is a possibility for him to play on Friday and if not Friday then perhaps Monday.”
Leyton Orient have an outside chance of making the play-offs, and they are four points behind Sheffield United, who currently occupy the final play-off position.
Slade has set his team a target of five wins from their remaining six matches if they’re to finish inside the top six.
The O’s Manager admitted: “We’re running out of games, we’ve only got six games left and realistically we need to win five of those if we want to make the play-offs.”
