O’s left back also hopes striker Darius Henderson can have a big impact between now and end of the season after returning from injury.
Leyton Orient defender Gary Sawyer admits their current situation is unacceptable, but he feels the team is more than capable of turning it around.
Last weekend’s 4-1 loss to Scunthorpe saw them slip to 23rd with only Yeovil Town below them, and the 29-year-old admitted everyone was feeling frustrated after the defeat.
“We are all angry, and not one of our lads in the dressing room has their head held high,” he said.
“Everyone has their head down and everyone wants to put it right. We are angry with each other and angry with everything.
“It is hard, but we are all professional and this is our job.
“We are not doing it right at the minute so we have to work even harder and make sure we turn it around.”
The only positive both boss Fabio Liverani and Sawyer could take from the Scunthorpe loss was the return of striker Darius Henderson after the 31-year-old came off the bench to score in his first game since October 25.
And Sawyer believes the experienced forward could have a big say in where the O’s end this season.
“I think ‘Hendo’ has been itching to get back in,” he added.
“He’s had a tough time with injuries since he came here and everyone knows his capabilities and he can be a great player for us. Fingers crossed he stays fit.
“That was a good run out for him and he did well so he will be a good improvement for us.”
The O’s have to turn it around sooner rather than later and make the trip to play-off chasing Rochdale on Saturday.
“It’s another tough game. If you look through the whole league it is a tough game every single week and there isn’t an easy match,” he said.
“We just need to roll our sleeves up and everyone needs to stick together at this time.
“We have pretty much the same team we had last season so that shows we have the fight and will to win.”
