Local coach picked up the People’s Award - Outstanding Contribution to Community Football at the ceremony

R77 Soccer School founder and head coach Ridhwaan Yusuf was rewarded for his work in the local area by picking up the ‘People’s Award - Outstanding Contribution to Community Football’ at the FA Grassroots Awards.

The awards, which were at hosted at Stamford Bridge, the home of Premier League champions Chelsea, recognise the talent, hard work and inspiration shown by individuals and clubs across the entire capital at grassroots level.

Yusuf was nominated by friend Mohamed Patel for the award and was up against others from across the capital at the awards night, hosted by Sky Sports presenter David Garrido.

The nomination noted Yusuf’s work from the age of 16 as a coach at grassroots level, before going on to set up R77 in 2014.

The soccer school has now grown to include 120 children aged three to 12, along with 14 young coaches who volunteer three times a week, with Yusuf’s work in helping it develop richly rewarded.
