R77 Soccer School founder Ridhwaan Yusuf has been nominated in the ‘Grassroots’ category at the Asian Football Awards, which take place later this month.

After drawing applicants from across the country, Yusuf has made it onto the three-man shortlist, along with Kulwinder S Johal of GNG Leicester and Joginder Liddar of Indian Gymkhana.

The awards take place at The Grange St. Paul’s Hotel London on November 14, with some of the biggest names in sport in attendance.

The award winners will be decided by a panel that includes BBC Sport presenter Manish Bhasin, Queens Park Rangers director Chris Ramsey, Former professional footballer Anwar Uddin and FA equality manager Kevin Coleman.

Yusuf, who won the London FA Grassroots award earlier this year, has been nominated for his work with R77, which he helped form over three years ago. The Soccer School works with children from across Newham aged between three and 13.
