Newham district’s year seven team thumped rivals Tower Hamlets 10-1 in the London Cup.

Hat-tricks from Modestas Kalinausks and Samuel Amo-Ameyaw led the way as Newham eased into the third round of the competition.

The youngsters started the game with a bang and after only four minutes Newham took the lead with a fabulous right-footed strike from Kalinausks.

They doubled their lead when Luke Grant delivered a superb ball into the box which was expertly headed in by captain Diego Makesa.

Makesa added his second of the game with an outstanding individual goal and further goals were added by Samson Uwandu and Hazeez Olowu to complete the double-digit haul.

Coach Terry Bobie Agyekum said: “It was a delight to see my team flourish in such an exciting manner, they have been working extremely hard in training and have replicated this on the pitch.”
