Clapton crashed out of the FA Vase in the second qualifying round with a 2-0 defeat to Newbury Forest.
Forest travelled to the Old Spotted Dog as underdogs but managed to cause an upset and bag themselves £750 in prize money as well as progress into the first round of the cup competition.
Some sloppy defending from the Tons left the visitors striker open in the box and he made no mistake by sending the ball into the back of the net.
They took a 1-0 lead into the half-time break but Clapton came out firing for the second-half.
The hosts dominated the early part of the second-half but against a run of play found themselves 2-0 down as Forest were awarded a penalty which was comfortably dispatched.
Elsewhere, Barkingside also failed to progress into the next round of the cup, despite drawing 1-1 with Wodson Park as they lost 4-2 on penalties.
Michael Walther’s side broke the deadlock in the 76th minute thanks to Jacob Dingli, but Steve Towers equalised only moments later for Park to take the match to extra-time.
Neither side could find a winner and eventually the hosts lost 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out.
