Chris Wright hit another brace to keep Ben Short’s in-form team on track to claim some silverware at the end of the campaign

JK Silvertown stormed into the semi-finals of the J.Lizzimore Cup with a crushing win at West Essex Reserves.

The away side impressed once again in the first half to book their spot in the last four of the competition.

Chris Wright opened the scoring after five minutes before Barry Stevens doubled their advantage in the 10th minute.

Stevens scored from 30-yards, but his effort was bettered by Wright, who made it 3-0 with a 40-yard strike.

Silvertown switched off before half time, however, and West Essx reduced the arrears in the 40th minute.

But the visitors had the final say before the break when right-back Adem Hassan burst forward and fired home from a tight angle to make it 4-1.

The second half was a quieter affair, although Ryan Wright got in on the act before full time to make it 5-1 win.

JK Silvertown squad: Muscat, Boreham, R.Wright, Hassan, Jenkins, Ashby, Rawlinson, Stevens, Robson, C.Wright, Short, Loriero.
