Tolga Dervish likely to take charge of his new team for the first time, but Imrul Gazi’s men are also desperate for the points

New Hackney Wick boss Tolga Dervish is set to take charge of his first match tonight when they host Sporting Bengal United in the Essex Senior League.

The former Crawley Town under-23 assistant manager was appointed manager of the Old Spotted Dog club on Sunday.

Dervish has replaced Chris Davis and will look to make a strong start this evening and see his side bounce back after Saturday’s 4-1 loss at Sawbridgeworth Town.

Bengal also suffered a defeat at the weekend, although in closer circumstances, as they were beaten 3-2 by Hullbridge Sports at the Mile End Stadium.

Imrul Gazi will be seeking better tonight and eager for his team to claim their first win of the campaign.

After this evening’s contest, both sides have a little wait before they play again due to their recent FA Cup exits.

The two clubs are without a weekend fixture and won’t be in action until August 26, so a positive result later is crucial.
