London Bari travel to leaders Barking looking to do the Tons a favour and bounce back after losing at Wadham Lodge last Saturday

Clapton have been left frustrated by the Essex Senior League fixture list again as they are without a match this weekend.

The Tons do not play until Tuesday when they travel to struggling Burnham Ramblers looking to make it three wins from three matches.

After losing 5-2 at local rivals Barkingside on February 24, Jon Fowell’s team have bounced back magnificently.

Johnny Ashman inspired Clapton to a 4-0 victory over in-form Sawbridgeworth Town at the Old Spotted Dog last Tuesday.

Jay Knight opened the scoring after just six minutes as he glanced home Jerry Jairette’s free kick and Ashman doubled Tons’ lead in the 41st minute with a half-volley from 25 yards to put the hosts in control.

Ryan Reed made it 3-0 just five minutes into the second half after superb work by Ashman on the right.

Ashman then completed the scoring with a simple finish in the 77th minute to help Clapton respond after the disappointing defeat at Barkingside.

Tons made it back-to-back wins on Saturday as Knight hit a hat-trick to help beat Hullbridge Sports 4-1.

Steven Sardinha was also on target as Tons raced into a four-goal lead after 50 minutes and although Charlie Little pulled one back for the visitors, Fowell’s side held on for another comfortable success.

It has been a mixed week for London Bari after ending their winless run, but then suffering a frustrating loss on Saturday.

Chris Davis’ team arranged to play Haringey & Waltham at short notice at the Terence McMillan Stadium last Thursday and would have been delighted to agree to the match come full time as they ran out 5-1 winners.

Hassan Nalbant netted a brace with Richmond Ayoola, Kareem Richardson and Junior Decker also on target.

But Bari lost 2-1 away to Wadham Lodge on Saturday and are set to play host to leaders Barking at the Old Spotted Dog this weekend.
