Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy: Clapton 1 Haringey Borough 0

Clapton are through to the final of the Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy after defeating Essex Senior League leaders Haringey Borough.

They won 1-0 at the Old Spotted Dog thanks to ninth minute goal but they were down to 10 men for much of the game.

A defender handled the ball in the box and was given his marching orders but Haringey failed to net the subsequent spot kick.

Tons will now face Barking in the final at Leslie field on May 2 after the Blues beat Takeley 5-0.

Ben Turner converted two penalties as he notched a hat-trick while Joe Killingback and Steve Willis also got their names on the scoresheet.

It will be the second time in four days the sides will meet in cup action following their ESL Cup semi-final on April 28.
