Clapton assistant manager Andre Thomas admits it was disappointing to draw against Woodford Town on Saturday.

The Tons had to settle for a point after being held by Essex Senior League new boys Woodford in an Old Spotted Dog stalemate.

“A draw was a bit disappointing as we know that some teams will sit and be compact against us,” Thomas said.

“We created chances but wasn’t able to take them, a positive would be that we did create chances, we just need to create more and show patience and composure whilst the opposition tries to frustrate us.”

Although they failed to find the net they also managed to keep the opposition out and pick up another clean sheet this season.

“Clean sheet, our second in our last two games is always a positive and a good foundation to build on.

“It’s always nice to know, although we may not score, we wont concede.

“Just means the glass is half full and we need to work on a few more things and think of a few more ideas.”
