Tons assistant manager Wayne Seal wants his side to get back on track with a victory against mid-table Woodford Town in the London Senior Cup.
Clapton travel away to the 10th place Essex Senior League outfit this evening at Goffs Lane (7.45pm kick-off) as they look to bounce back from their disappointing 3-2 FA Vase defeat to London Lions.
“It’s a game we should be looking to go and win to get ourselves back on track,” Seal said.
“That’s not being disrespectful to Woodford either as I respect every side in the league but if you look at our recent form and the players we have I would be disappointed if we lost.
“It’s important to win and get a run in the London Senior Cup going.”
Seal expects a tough test against Dee Safer’s men despite the club constantly making changes so far this season.
“I know they’ve changed their manager and know there has been a lot of chopping and changing so far this season for them.
“I imagine they’ll be a good footballing side as Wadham Lodge were when Dee was in charge there.
“I know a lot of the core of the players is still there and I know a fair bit about a few of their players as most of them played for Wadham Lodge a couple years ago.”
Clapton will be hoping to progress into the second round of the cup competition where they could face Bostik Premier Division outfit Metropolitan Police FC.
