Bethnal Green boss Anthony Gradley felt his side were hard done by in their Essex Senior League clash last night.
Kadir Jama gave the visitors a sixth-minute lead, finishing well at the far post, and they held onto the advantage until shortly before half-time when Lewis Sparrow levelled.
Jimmy Webb put Rovers ahead in the second half and a late goal from substitute Ashley Hawkins sealed the points to put the hosts top of the table.
But Gradley claimed Green deserved better, saying: “The result aside, an outsider watching wouldn’t have said they were going to the top and we were a mid-table side.
“Judging by their celebrations, they felt they were fortunate to take the three points.
“We made a positive start and they didn’t trouble us at all really.
“We were in control, comfortable and composed, but we needed to be a bit more clinical in the final third.
“We dropped deeper than we should have in the second half and they took the initiative.
“We upped the tempo and played more direct to get back into it, but it’s the story of our season.
“Our end-product let us down. We got into four or five good positions, but we need to be ruthless in the final third.
“The third goal was irrelevant, we were chasing the game. But we could’ve been more decisive with the other two.
“Considering they are top of the league, they didn’t break us down or create many opportunities.
“But we need to bounce back against Southend Manor on Saturday.”
Meanwhile Sporting Bengal’s match against Southend Manor tonight and London Bari’s visit to Basildon were called off this afternoon.
London APSA are set to entertain Barking at Terrance McMillan Stadium tomorrow (Thursday).
