Hafiz Ahmed delighted his youngsters edge exciting clash with Juva Youth

London APSA under-13s had more to celebrate as they added the Waltham Forest League Cup to the league title they had won a week earlier.

Hafiz Ahmed’s youngsters have enjoyed a stellar season and added more silverware after a thrilling encounter with Juva Youth.

The match produced 12 goals and fortunately most of them went the way of APSA. A hat-trick by Tanbir Ahmed helped his side win the final after an exciting match.

Osman Rahman and Taher Mahmood hit braces, while Zaid Ahmed also found the net in APSA’s 8-4 triumph, which ensured the double.

APSA broke the deadlock when Rahman tapped in Mahmood’s cross and they doubled that lead when Rahman took full advantage of some poor defending by Juva Youth.

Juva reduced the arrears a minute later, but that only resulted in APSA upping their game and Tanbir Ahmed and Mahmood both scored twice to ensure their team was 6-1 up at the break.

It seemed like Ahmed’s side would increase their lead after the interval, but their opponents showed the killer touch required in front of goal.

Juva scored three times to make the score 6-4 and APSA were nervy now with their rivals having all the momentum.

But Tanbir Ahmed completed his hat-trick when he was played in by Akram Miah and Zaid Ahmed saw his shot from outside the box find the net to make it 8-4.

The APSA youngsters had fought back brilliantly to win the match and seal a memorable league and cup double and manager Hafiz Ahmed said: “It was a really exciting game of football, end-to-end stuff.

“We got there in the end, but full credit to Juva. Although the score seems one-sided, they did have spells where they played really well. They fought really hard to try and level the scores, but I have to give credit to our boys.

“They kept up their game, didn’t panic and we have won the final to complete the double.”
