Fencing: Seven Newham Swords members named in national teams

The latest news from the Newham Swords fencing club

Seven Newham Swords members have been selected to fence for England and Great Britain at various cadet, junior and senior World Cups taking place over the next two months.

At senior level, Kamal Minott has just been selected for the World Cup events in Cairo and Tokyo, while Junior Commonwealth gold medallist Katrina Feklistova has been selected to represent England at the Five Nations Tournament in Cardiff.

At junior level, UK School Games double gold medallist and GB number two Alice Campbell has been selected for the under-20 World Cup in Bochum.

Junior Commonwealth gold medallist Ciaran Archer will represent GB in Poland.

At cadet level, British under-16 and England under-15 Champion Teagan Williams-Stewart will fence for GB at the Under-17 World Cup taking place in Austria.

Williams-Stewart will be joined by British under-16 silver medallist Benjamin Udrzal and team-mate Georgia Silk.

“I are extremely proud of this very talented group of fencers and wish them luck in their forthcoming internationals”, said Swords club manager, Linda Strachan.
