ESKF Karate Club prove why they call themselves ‘world champions’ at first-ever WUKF Champions League tournament

Local club, who train in Forest Gate at Atherton Leisure Centre, show off talent at competition at UEL’s SportsDock
ESKF Karate Club achieved plenty of success in the first-ever WUKF Champions League tournament, which took place last weekend at the University of East London’s SportsDock Arena.
The club, who train in Forest Gate once a week at Atherton Leisure Centre, scooped the club of the tournament award after securing the best points total at the event.
ESKF 16 goals medals overall with plenty of silver and bronzes in the Kata and Kumite categories.
It was a memorable day for the club and a rewarding one, especially given the level of competition they were facing.
The best athletes from all over the world were taking part and it left ESKF sensei Essam Shrief full of pride.
He said: “This is the first time that this tournament has taken place and we are very very proud that our club is now ranked as number one in the Champions League.
“Our students are world class athletes and have proven their right to be called world champions.”
