East Ham's Nithin Fransis has been named OCS Young Sportsperson of the Year.
East Ham’s Nithin Fransis has been named OCS Young Sportsperson of the Year.
The 12-year-old taekwondo athlete accepted the award from BBC presenter Gabby Logan in London.
Martin Gammon, OCS chief executive for the UK and Europe, was full of praise for the youngster.
“Congratulations to Nithin Fransis and to all the OCS Young Sportsperson award winners.
“I also want to pass on my thanks and best wishes to the people who help our young athletes in different ways especially their parents and supporters.”
The aim of the award is to give emerging young athletes a combination of recognition and practical support to ease the strain of training, travelling and competing.
