Josh Jarvis took on Billy Brewer from Chalvedon in a rematch, having lost the first encounter.

And the young Hammer made a strong start, winning the first round with some nice straight shots, before letting his rival back into the contest in the second round.

After some stern words from his coaches, Jarvis gritted his teeth and took the third round to claim victory.

Frank Middleton took on Chalvedon’s Bobby Tildesley in what turned out to be the bout of the night.

The two youngsters went toe-to-toe for three rounds, bringing the crowd to their feet, and Middleton claimed victory and the boxer of the night award.

Last into the ring for West Ham was Billy Newton, who faced home favourite Max Dormer and made a slow start in the first round.

Newton went through the gears, though, and gave Dormer a standing eight count to claim a unanimous points win.

West Ham’s Patrick Connors and Viddal Riley face national finals in Bristol and Newcastle this weekend.
