London Youngblood Cubs cantered to a comfortable 87-38 success at home to their Ipswich rivals.

Tinu Fakunle opened the game with the first free throws of the fixture, before Fatama Jenneh quickly followed with a lay-up.

Ipswich replied with a basket of their own which settled the away team, but Cubs pulled away with eight unanswered points.

Though Ipswich went to the free throw line three times, they only managed to convert two of the six chances as Cubs led 26-11 at the end of the first quarter.

Both the second and the third periods saw Youngbloods net 16 points to Ipswich’s nine, seeing the hosts pull further clear.

Cubs stepped up a gear in the fourth quarter, rebounding and stealing the ball and converting plenty of baskets to add to their lead.

“I am very happy to get the win considering we had players missing for various reasons,” said coach Stephen Onireti.
