School Sport: St Edward's top in athletics event

St Edward’s impressed as they triumphed in the Year Three and Four Sportshall Athletics Competition held by Langdon Academy Sport Partnership on Wednesday (January 6).
Girls and boys were involved in the event and 13 schools took part in the track and field competition.
The girls of St Edward’s finished first overall with their boys coming second to give them a grand total of 340 points.
St Antony’s were runners up after a solid display as their girls came second and the boys third to finish with 314 points.
Next up was St Helen’s with 286 points. Their boys finished first overall, but an eighth place finish from the girls ensured they were third overall.
Aldersbrook and Brampton were tied for fourth with 250 points each while coming home in sixth place was Cleveland with 246 points.
St Francis took seventh position overall with 232 points and Nelson’s 204 points was enough to earn them an eighth finish.
Roman Road and St Joachims managed to finish inside the top ten as they came ninth and 10th respectively with 188 and 176 points.
St Winefride’s weren’t too far behind St Joachims as they earned 172 points and that was enough to see them come joint 11th with North Beckton.
Lathom also took part and finished 13th after obtaining 90 points during the event, which helps the pupils of today become leaders tomorrow.
